197, Timetables and Route Information

Go-Ahead Ireland commenced operation of Route 197 from Sunday 24th November on behalf of Transport for Ireland (TFI).

The 197 extends between Swords and Ashbourne, stopping at the principal Stopping Places listed below:

  • Swords
  • Rathbeale Road
  • Rolestown (following construction of 2 new stops)
  • Nine Milestone
  • Ashbourne

The bus service will operate 17 daily return services on Monday to Saturday and 14 daily return services on Sunday inclusive of public holidays, with the exception of Christmas Day.

Services will primarily have a one-hour frequency, except for the PM peak which will operate at a one hour and fifteen minute frequency. Please note that the PM Peak will temporarily use a one hour ten minute frequency while roadworks on Rathbeale Road take place.

Route 197 (operated by Go-Ahead Ireland) will be fully integrated in the TFI National Journey Planner. The TFI National Journey Planner is a door-to-door journey planner that provides service information, directions and time estimates for taking a journey on all licenced public transport providers across Ireland.

Go-Ahead Ireland to Commence Operation of Further Commuter Bus Services

From Sunday 19th January 2020, Go-Ahead Ireland will commence operation of a number of routes along the Dublin Commuter corridor.
