With the support of the National Transport Authority (NTA), Go-Ahead Ireland have completed the roll out of hand sanitiser dispensers to their entire fleet.

All the 200-bus fleet for the contracts operated on behalf of the NTA are fitted with a hand sanitiser dispenser in a safe area for customers to use as they enter the buses and coaches operated by the company.

Go-Ahead Ireland carried out a trial in September 2020 to review the locations of the units, the hand sanitiser solution and to obtain feedback from customers.

Chris Stringer, Head of Engineering said, “The safety of everyone on board our buses is important to us, and the trial gave us valuable feedback from colleagues, customers and stakeholders – we used this feedback to make further improvements”.

89% of feedback from customers who engaged in the survey was positive in supporting having hand sanitisers on board the buses.

Andrew Edwards, Managing Director, said, “The health and safety of our colleagues and customers is our number one priority and I am delighted that we have completed the roll out of the hand sanitiser units. I believe we are the first operator to have delivered the whole fleet roll out for the NTA which ensures that the communities we serve continue to receive a safe clean environment when travelling on buses in Ireland”.
