Job Title: IT Manager


Based: Ballymount


Reporting to: Finance Director


Purpose: The IT Manager will be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of all NTA novated contracts as well as for our own IT systems. They will be responsible for the IT infrastructure that enables the correct functioning of the AVL and electronic ticketing machine (ETM) systems, as well as deliver on the vision beliefs and attitudes of Go-Ahead Ireland.

 

Key Responsibilities and tasks : 

• Manages information technology and computer systems • Primary contact and liaison for Authority IT projects
• Plans, organises, controls and evaluates IT and electronic data operations
• Manage the telematics systems and cloud hosting for systems we operate
• Designs, develops, implements and coordinates systems, policies and procedures
• Ensures security of data, network access and back-up systems
• Keeps up to date with use of changing on-board IT systems
• Acts in line with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organisational policy
• Identifies system faults and issues and implements strategic solutions to resolve.
• Regularly audits systems and assesses their outcomes
• Preserves assets, information security and control structures
• Handles annual IT budget and ensures cost effectiveness
• Local build and imaging of Pc’s and Laptops
• Administration of locally hosted systems
• 1st line support to employees on local IT issues
• 1st line support and fault diagnosis of local hardware and networks
• Preserves assets, information security and control structures
• Considers General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and how IT systems handle and need to handle data
• To maintain and build new relationships with vendors and outsourced products the company uses

Knowledge and Skills : 

Essential : 

• Degree level qualification in related discipline

• Good communicator • ITIL Certification • Proven previous IT management experience

• Excellent knowledge of technical management information analysis and computer hardware/software systems

• Expertise in data centre management and data governance

• Hands on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation

• Experience of working in a similar sized organisation

• Expertise in data centre management and data governance

• Experience with local networks and network administration

 

Desirable:


• Experience in Transport Industry
General Safety Responsibilities:
• To act in a manner as to ensure the health, safety, welfare, environment and fire safety of yourself and others in the organisation as well as any clients and visitors.
• Ensure that you and any guests to any company premises understand emergency and evacuation arrangements.
• Ensure your working environment is maintained in a safe and tidy condition. To act proactively in identifying and any unsafe practices or safety risks in the organisation and reporting these through the appropriate channels.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant company and Go-Ahead group company policies and procedures.
