Job Title: Service Delivery Manager, ODMA South
Location: Ballymount, Dublin 12
Reporting To: Regional Operations Manager
We are looking for a professional Transport Manager to lead the day-to-day management of our ODMA South operation to ensure delivery of our contract KPIs, whilst ensuring a customer centric approach.
The Service Delivery Manager will be required to maintain a highly engaged team who are aligned to the business goals. They will have strong relationships with driver and supervisory teams ensuring effective performance.
This role will require flexibility due to the changing operational demands and will ensure there is always appropriate coverage for the delivery of service.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
- Responsible for the management and performance of the Assistant Service Delivery Managers, with overall responsibility for the Supervisory and Driver teams.
- As a Transport Manager for the business, ensure compliance to meet the operator’s licence requirements
- Ensure daily delivery of service for Ballymount and any outstations, reviewing each mornings run out and developing action plans to correct any issues arising
- Review lost mileage daily and ensure plans to correct any challenges being experienced are implemented, including effective service recovery plans, to ensure the delivery of internal KPIs
- Assist wider operations team with planned and unplanned service events
- Ensure delivery of operational audits (such as first use checks, uniform, CPC/Licence compliance) on a daily and periodic basis
- Ensure operational compliance for all Licence and CPC, ensuring their accurate maintenance and recording in Power BI (or other platform as determined by the business)
- Ensure service allocation is managed in line with the relevant legislation for drivers’ hours and working time
- Ensure effective and proactive management of key operational data to drive performance and continual improvement
- Ensure clear understanding of Driver establishment requirements and work alongside Recruitment and Training Manager to ensure maintenance of same
- Ensure post test training is completed for all new starters, such as adequate route learning
- Ensure KPIS are managed in line with budget, and duties/absences are managed in most cost-effective way
- Meeting and managing payroll budgets for all driver and supervisory teams
- Ensure ongoing effective communications and engagement with Supervisory and Driver teams
- Work closely with the Service Performance Manager and Engineering Manager to ensure effective communication and delivery of service between supervisory and control teams
- Report and present on service performance to the National Transport Authority
- Manage supervisory and driver teams in line with the Company’s Performance and Conduct Guidelines
- Ensure prompt and effective management of all accidents and incidents in line with Company Performance and Conduct Guidelines
- Work with the schedules team for all schedule changes
- Support HSEQ team as required
- Work alongside to support the Service Delivery Manager ODMA North as required
- Provide first-line response to incidents where management attention is required
- Maintain an effective and positive working relationship with the Trade Union
- Positively engage with key stakeholders, such as the National Transport Authority
- Ensure that Health and Safety requirements are monitored and managed proactively, including taking part in Management Safety Tours
- Responsibility in managing, participating, and complying with the Integrated Management System (IMS)
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Essential:
- Significant experience of managing a team in an operational environment.
- Relevant professional development or management qualification.
- Track record of meeting performance and an understanding of key operational performance
- Experience of managing change effectively.
