We are looking for dedicated and experienced Bus Mechanics to join our dynamic Engineering Team at Go-Ahead Ireland, with availability in Ballymount and Naas.

As a HGV Bus Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining our fleet of buses (or coaches for Naas), ensuring they operate efficiently and safely to serve our community. Our experienced and passionate team of Bus Mechanics ensure our buses are on the road and running our services daily.

Working Hours: 39 hours Sunday-Saturday alternating shifts
Competitive Job Salary
€49,260.12 is the starting salary for a mechanic based on a basic 39 hour working week (this excludes overtime rates and Sunday rates) with annual increase.
Jobs Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Perform routine bus safety inspections, planned maintenance and corrective maintenance to a high standard on buses and vehicles.
- Quality repair and preventative maintenance skills.
- Attend roadside break downs and diagnose fault.
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety standards, all relevant company and Go-Ahead Group Policies and Procedures.
- Strong diagnostics capabilities with good computer skills.
- Ensure your working environment is maintained in a safe and tidy condition. To act proactively in identifying and any unsafe practices or safety risks in the organisation and reporting these through the appropriate channels.
- Responsibility in managing, participating, and complying with the Integrated Management System (IMS).

Driving Licence:
- Full Irish B driving licence (essential)
- Full Irish D driving licence (desirable)
Qualifications:
- National Craft Certificate for the trade of Heavy/light Vehicle Mechanic awarded by SOLAS/Department of Education following the successful completion of a recognised SOLAS apprenticeship – Or equivalent to this level 6 qualification, in the National Framework of Qualifications in Ireland

- Advanced Certificate – Craft awarded by FETAC following the successful completion of a recognised SOLAS apprenticeship - Or equivalent to this level 6 qualification, in the National Framework of Qualifications in Ireland
