Celebrating Ireland’s Future Mechanics

GAI’s Apprenticeship Programme, ran in conjunction with Generation Apprenticeship, is set to begin later this year, with positions available in Ballymount, Dublin 12, and Naas, Kildare. Through an amalgamation of on-the-job and off-the-job training, the programme provides a unique chance to gain significant expertise in maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles, including buses and coaches.

Encouraging Broader Interest and Recruitment

The company's expansion and commitment to providing exceptional service in the Greater Dublin Area provide a variety career options for people with diverse skills and interests.

Gary Bond, Director of Engineering at GAI, said: “A substantial increase in applications for the roles demonstrates the level of interest in Go-Ahead Ireland as a great place to work and is indicative of our growing reputation within the capital as the best performing and fastest growing public bus transport operator.

“We are committed to investing in all of our colleagues, including apprentices, by providing them with the skills and opportunities they need to develop their careers. We are also pleased to see our most recent apprenticeship payment rate implemented, which will see first-year apprentices receive €495 per week during on-the-job training.

“Our team is growing, and we will be thrilled to welcome so many new faces to the Engineering department later on this year; together we will continue to innovate and provide exceptional public transport services to our communities.”
