Go-Ahead Ireland holding Women’s Bus Driver Open Day to recruit women to join the transport industry

Dublin’s best performing public transport operator looking to put women behind the wheel as bus drivers

 

8 July 2025 - Go-Ahead Ireland (GAI) is hosting a Women’s Bus Driver Open Day on Saturday, 26 July as part of ongoing recruitment efforts to bring more women into the public transport sector, particularly as bus drivers. Attendees will hear from women leading the way through presentations and panel discussions and will even have the opportunity to test drive buses with supervision at GAI’s Ballymount Depot.

Whether you are already part of the transport sector or looking to make a career change, women from all sectors are invited to learn about public transport operations and speak one-on-one with experienced bus drivers and other members of our team. Driver training will be provided to women of all levels of experience – all you need to be is 21 years of age and a holder of a B License for a minimum of two years.
