Go-Ahead Ireland (GAI) welcomes the publication of the National Transport Authority (NTA) Annual Report for 2024, which highlights a record-breaking number of passenger journeys across all Public Service Obligation (PSO) services in Ireland for 2024, with more than 343 million journeys.
This milestone is further underscored by the announcement in October 2024 that daily journeys in Ireland have reached a new high, surpassing one million public transport trips per day.
Go-Ahead Ireland’s Growth:
- The NTA Annual Report shows that Go-Ahead Ireland carried a record 22.5 million passengers in 2024, our highest ever passenger count, representing a 20.3% increase compared with 2023.
- GAI continued to be the best performing public transport bus operator while recording the highest year-on-year percentage increase in passenger growth for public transport bus operations in Dublin.
- Our growth has been supported by the rollout of the new N2 orbital route under BusConnects Dublin, in partnership with the National Transport Authority.
Dervla McKay, Managing Director of Go-Ahead Ireland, said: “Being the highest growing public transport bus operator in Dublin year-on-year is a testament to the dedication of our team. Our commitment to caring for our people, customers, communities, and environment, along with the trust of those we serve, has driven this success. As highlighted in the NTA Customer Satisfaction Report for 2024, where we achieved the highest customer satisfaction in the capital, we continue to build upon this trust with our passengers.
We look forward to building on our strong partnership with the NTA by collaborating on upcoming projects to deliver the best service possible for our growing communities.”
