GO-AHEAD IRELAND DUBLIN GAA CLUB AWARDS 2023
1 year ago
Dublin GAA and Go-Ahead Ireland have today launched the Go-Ahead Ireland Dublin GAA Club Awards. The awards recognise the work done by clubs, officials, volunteers, and players both on the pitch and in their communities by inviting entrants to nominate those who have gone above and beyond in their local area.
Two awards have been set up: the Go-Ahead Ireland Referee Recognition Award 2023, for which clubs can nominate affiliated referees who have demonstrated excellent leadership, guidance, and fairness in a written submission; and the Go-Ahead Ireland Club Community Spirit Award 2023, for which entrants should outline their club’s leadership, dedication, and involvement in community activities and initiatives in a video and written submission. The affiliate club awarded first place in either award will win €3,000, and the affiliate club awarded second place in either award will win €1,000, both awarded by Go-Ahead Ireland.
To enter, affiliated clubs should submit their entries for one or both awards via the Dublin GAA official website where the submission forms can be found. Entrants must have participated in the Go-Ahead Ireland Leagues and/or Championships throughout 2022 or 2023. Submissions can be sent up until 12th November 2023, and the winners will be announced in early December 2023.
Andrew Edwards, Managing Director of Go-Ahead Ireland, said: “Go-Ahead Ireland is extremely proud to establish the Go-Ahead Ireland Dublin GAA Club Awards with our partners at Dublin GAA.
“Throughout the years of partnership between Dublin GAA and GAI, we have seen excellent community involvement from players, volunteers, officials, and others involved with Dublin GAA, and as title sponsor, we felt it was only right that such incredible efforts should be recognised.
“We anticipate that the quality of submissions will be very high and that choosing winners will be difficult – but in highlighting the work done in local communities, the ultimate aim is to encourage future generations of people involved in Dublin GAA clubs to continue the work done by the winners, runners-up, and all those who enter.”
Tomás Quinn, Commercial and Marketing Manager of Dublin GAA, added: “We are delighted to work with Go-Ahead Ireland on this Dublin GAA Club Awards initiative.
“These competitions are open to all clubs across the county and give clubs the opportunity to highlight and champion the effort and commitment of those central to their running and values.
“We look forward to seeing the entries and celebrating the work being done in clubs in Dublin.”
Full requirements and details of entry for both awards can be found on Dublin GAA website and social media pages.
